Introduction

These Terms and Conditions of Service (“Agreement”) govern your access to and use of the online mentoring services (“Services”, “Sessions”, “Program”) provided by Space Cadets Studios (“Mentor”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”). By registering for, purchasing, or using our Services, you (“Client”, “You”, or “Your”) agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please contact our support team for clarification before signing up. Please do not use our Services if you still do not agree to these terms after further clarification.

Scope of Services

The Mentor will provide educational, motivational, or developmental mentoring sessions as described on our website or agreed upon via written communication. Services may include, but are not limited to: live video sessions, phone consultations, email support, written materials, and progress tracking.

Customization

Our Services are designed to be taken ‘at the Client’s own pace,’ and are therefore tailored to each Client’s needs, goals, and preferences as indicated during registration or initial consultation. However, we do not guarantee results, nor do we promise that any specific outcome will be achieved through our Services.

Availability

Mentoring sessions are scheduled based on mutual availability. The Mentor reserves the right to reschedule sessions due to unforeseen circumstances, with reasonable notice provided to the Client.

Eligibility and Registration

• You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services.

• Registration requires accurate, current, and complete information. You agree to update your information as needed.

• We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or cancel registrations at our discretion.

Fees and Payment

• All fees are listed on Our website or communicated via written agreement.

• Payment is due in advance or as otherwise agreed. Accepted payment methods include credit cards and electronic transfer. Other payment methods available upon specific request and pending special approval at Space Cadets Studios’ discretion.

• Failure to make timely payment may result in suspension or termination of Services.

• Prices are subject to change. We will notify Clients of any price changes in advance.

Refund Policy

In limited circumstances, you may qualify for a refund. You must request a refund in writing by contacting [email protected], and your request for a refund must be made within seven (7) days of your purchase. Refunds are not provided for completed sessions, no-shows, or cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice unless explicitly stated in written correspondence with someone on the Space Cadets Studios administrative team.

Webinars and other one-time purchases are not eligible for refund. All physical goods sold through the Site are returnable for store credit provided the returned goods are in like-new or re-sellable condition.

Scheduling, Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Your mentor will reach out to you to schedule sessions.

  • You will not be invited to schedule a session until you have submitted a document for review & feedback.

  • You agree to a lot your mentor 48 hours to read your submission before reaching out to schedule your session.

  • Please contact one of our program coordinators if a mentor does not reach out to you after 48 hours.

• The Client will not be able to move on to the next week of training until You have met with your Mentor. It is the Mentor’s responsibility to unlock the next section of the program for You during a session.

• It is not the Mentor’s responsibility to keep You on-schedule. This program is structured so that You can work at your own pace, meaning your Mentor will only reach out when You have first communicated readiness to meet by submitting your work.

  • If You fall behind on your writing work without notifying us, We will ask your Mentor to send a check-in email to see how you are doing. This is a courtesy afforded to You twice during your enrollment.

• Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled session.

• Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to an extra service charge of $50.00.

• You are alotted two (2) “Reschedules” with sufficient notice (more than 24 hours), subject to Mentor availability.

• Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in service termination & forfeiture of Mentor sessions.

• If a Mentor is ever 15 minutes late or more to a session without communicating anything to the Client, Space Cadets Studios considers that a ‘no-show’ session. Please contact one of Our program coordinators for immediate resolution.

• To Pause the program:

  • If the Client falls behind in their work or extenuating circumstances overwhelm or put them behind in the program, they are afforded several opportunities to ‘pause’ in order to catch up. We do not recommend a Pause lasting more than two (2) weeks. Should the Client require a pause to the mentorship program lasting longer than two (2) weeks, please contact our program manager: [email protected]

Client Responsibilities

By agreeing to these terms, you commit to:

• Participate actively and honestly in mentoring sessions.

• Set realistic goals and expectations.

• Once a You have started the program, You have 20 weeks (5 months) to complete the course. After the 20-week deadline, your remaining Mentor Meetings are forfeit. You will retain access to the pre-recorded online training elements of the course for one full year from your program start date.

• Notify the Mentor of any concerns, issues, or changes in circumstances that may affect mentoring.

• Respect the Mentor’s professional boundaries and time.

• Maintain the confidentiality of session content and mentoring materials.

Mentor Responsibilities

The Mentor agrees to:

• Provide professional, ethical, and respectful mentoring services.

• Maintain confidentiality except as required by law or in cases of imminent harm.

• Disclose any conflicts of interest.

• Refer Clients to other professionals when issues fall outside the scope of mentoring.

• Use secure technology for online communication to the best of their ability.

• It is the Mentor’s responsibility to unlock the next section of the program for you during a session.

• All mentors enter into a Nondisclosure Agreement with Space Cadets Studios which protects the Client’s creative ideas and intellectual property. Mentors agree to honor their Space Cadets Studios NDA as well as their time helping You develop your art.

Confidentiality

• All information shared during mentoring is confidential, except as required for legal compliance, safety concerns, or as otherwise agreed in writing.

• Digital records are stored securely and only accessible to authorized personnel.

• You agree not to record, distribute, or share mentoring sessions or materials without written permission.

Intellectual Property

• All materials, documents, and content provided during mentoring remain the intellectual property of the Mentor/Company.

• You may use materials for personal use only and may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or share without express written consent.

• By paying for these services, you maintain the intellectual property rights to any ideas developed in mentor sessions pertaining specifically to your creative writing and storytelling project(s).

Technology and Communications

• Services are delivered via online platforms (e.g., Zoom, Skype, proprietary apps, email).

• Technical issues may occasionally disrupt service. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve and reschedule.

• You are responsible for having a reliable internet connection and compatible device.

• We are not liable for data loss, breaches, or interruptions caused by third-party platforms.

Limitation of Liability

• Mentoring is not therapy, medical, or legal advice. You acknowledge that results depend on many personal factors.

• To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from use of our Services.

• Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by you for Services rendered.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Mentor/Company against any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from your use of the Services or breach of this Agreement.

Termination

We may cancel or terminate your right to use the Site or any part of the Site at any time without notice. In the event of cancellation or termination, you are no longer authorized to access the part of the Site affected by such cancellation or termination. The restrictions imposed on you with respect to material downloaded from the Site, and the disclaimers and limitations of liabilities set forth in these Terms and Conditions, shall survive.

• Either party may terminate the Agreement with written notice.

• All Mentor Services are nonrefundable. Once a payment has been made and access to materials has been granted, the Client understands and agrees to tender any remaining program payments to Space Cadets Studios immediately upon a Client-originated termination request of this agreement.

• Termination does not affect rights accrued prior to termination.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state of Alabama. Any disputes will be resolved via mediation or arbitration prior to formal legal proceedings. Both parties agree to resolve conflicts ethically and promptly.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of Services constitutes acceptance of revised terms.

Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire terms between Mentor/Company and Client regarding the Services and supersedes all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.

By registering for, purchasing, or using our online mentoring services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
